Sunday night was a headline slot at the St. Ives Music Festival with my full band Off The Cuff. What a weekend to do it! The sun was shining, people were there in their thousands ready to dance the evening away. We got there early to watch some of the other acts including some great local talent such as Jellyfish and Matt and Jess. The atmosphere was awesome, people were all out to have a great time on a rare British summer afternoon.
We’d spent the early afternoon locked away practicing to make sure we had a brilliant set list to get the crowd going and end the festival in style, so we were raring to get out and enjoy ourselves too and make it one to remember! We decided to include 2 recent songs that were sure to get everyone dancing!
From our first song ‘Marry You’ by Bruno Mars the front of the stage was packed with people dancing and singing along, it was a treat for us too being the first public performance we’ve done, with all our other work being weddings and private parties.
Throughout the set more people joined the dancing crowd at the front, men and women, young and old, we made sure there was something for everyone.
We played some brand new songs too which went down a storm, especially Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke and Get Lucky by Daft Punk our final songs of the evening. During our last song we invited a couple of people on the stage, to then be invaded by dozens of people dancing up on the stage with us, loving every minute. Health and saftey were not happy however thankfully no one was hurt and we all had a great dance together.
What a great festival and a great end to a busy weekend of weddings.
