Choosing your own ceremony music is a very popular service that we offer here at Matt Strafford Duo HQ. We ask our clients what they want during their ceremony and during the recession and precession. We have had some interesting selections over the years however we wanted to compile a list of our top 5 wedding songs we have been requested. In no particular order –
Joe Cocker – You Are So Beautiful
We love this song. It has been requested a few times in the past and we hope it gets requested in the future too. The lyrics are romantic and have deep meaning to the couples we play it for.
Bruno Mars – Marry You
We have played a few stripped back versions of this song while the bride is walking down the isle. It’s a lovely contemporary song that works really well during the ceremony.
Pachelbel – Canon in D
This is a classic song that is hugely known around the world as the ‘down the aisle song’. It’s a beautiful piece of music that we have also been requested a few times. Obviously we are not a string quartet so our version is quite contemporary however keeping the original feel and romance of the song.
Frank Sinatra – The Way You Look Tonight
Frank Sinatra… We absolutely love him. Swing is one of our favourite styles of music and we chose this specific version as it’s fantastic! We tend to play it quite stripped back however keeping the swing, happy feel that is so beautifully captured in this version.
Adele – Make You Feel My Love
Everyone knows this song and most love it. It’s a cover of make you feel my love and we play it as close to the adele version. This is probably one of our most requested ceremony music songs and with good reason. The lyrics and melody really set the mood. A fantastic song that will be played in many ceremony’s to come I am sure!
Please feel free to add any of your favourite wedding ceremony pieces of music.
